Debtless was created to help the millions of Americans crippled by predatory debt. The end goal is full disruption to the debt collection industry, to give Americans a fair chance to achieve financial independence.

what we do

For the average American, even a modest sum of debt that is not paid in full can quickly escalate. And oftentimes, to no fault of their own, this mounting burden can hinder someone’s ability to -

  • rent or purchase a home

  • buy a car

  • start a family

  • obtain credit

  • be an entrepreneur

  • or achieve an adequate standard of living.

Debtless seeks to address this problem created by predatory industries by purchasing debt from the secondary market and canceling this debt for the benefit of the debtor. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we can provide this financial relief out of “detached and disinterested generosity” with no adverse tax consequences to the individual.

From student debt to predatory payday loans to bad credit cards to medical debt, we understand the only solution here is total debt cancelation. When you owe debt in a predatory system that is designed to keep you in debt, then your debt should stop being just a personal burden.

We fundraise through a variety of different mediums in order to purchase debt portfolios with the most impact on the community. Each individual debtor is notified when their debt has been forgiven, and Debtless will then be able to provide support for their next steps in order to achieve financial stability and maintain their new debt-free status.
